Thought For The Day – Tuesday 20th May 2025
Back To The Future
Pictures above from: 1st January 2024, 1st September 2024, 12th September 2024, 29th November 2024 and 6th April 2025.
How it started. How it is going.
This time last year, the staff of T.B.S.H.S. , in hard hats and high visibility jackets, were given a guided tour of our prospective new School facilities on Beaumont Avenue.
Staff were safely guided around the prospective new T.B.S.H.S. , including in a protype classroom, the Sports Hall and Main Hall.
A different world was stepped into.
It was now no longer a case of if the dream would become reality, but when.
In the Summer Term of 2024, we said goodbye to, and transitioned and regenerated from, London Road. There were still: vital examinations to sit; education and life to experience; former staff and students to include; current staff and students to induct.
For how the game, and season, is completed and finished says everything about staff, players and supporters.
But, to reach our new educational destination, there was, and would be, an unimaginable amount of work still to do, after an unimaginable amount of work has already been done, especially for leaders and orangisers of this project of nearly two decades: Mr. Reeve; Ms. Engel; the Senior Leadership Team; Mr. Fordham, the Chair of Governors of T.B.S.H.S.; all Governors, and all School leaders past and present.
Words cannot do justice to all this, and their, work. As with any project, the last few weeks, in what for them was not a Summer holiday, required further outstanding resilience.
Their legacy is all around us.
We should also, equally, never forget those who built, designed and all who supported T.B.S.H.S. Version 2.0., including local leaders. It always takes a wider community.
Inspired by all this wonderful leadership, and with everyone at every level playing their part, and resiliently and respectfully responding to each challenge, the move to St. James’ Park was completed. It was built. And people came.
Mention should be made of the characteristic leadership of the Physical Education department in the Autumn term as the Sports Hall was completed.
It has been an extraordinary academic year which, like our the new T.B.S.H.S. itself, and all who lead and contribute, and whilst always striving to be the best version of ourselves, should be treasured.
“The Black and Gold Spirit” was brought from day one by all staff on unforgettable, and the greatest ever, Inset Days. It was equally brought by students on the days that followed. Be proud. It took, and takes, everyone.
The story continues. Our values are verbs as we strive to be better. Nothing is given. Everything is earned.
Our new School inspires us to design and deliver our dreams in our own lives.
And we do this every day, one brick at a time, following a plan and vision, being caring, both of others and ourselves, flexible and understanding, and always staying humble and true to our roots and values.
