Thought For The Day – Tuesday 16th July 2024
Summer Care
As we look forward to the summer holidays, we remember to be supportive of one another, like we all were on non-uniform day.
In the summer holidays, some of us will travel far, some will travel near, some will stay at home, or close to home.
For there is a world on a doorstep. The materially inexpensive gift given with great care means the absolute world. The value of everything.
In the summer, some of us will have a plan, a programme, or a project. Some will take each day at a time.
Some will have had massive challenges in recent times, and in life. They know their journey and how outstanding they truly are.
There will be some who, quietly and humbly, are making the improvements for their future, as a person and beyond, doing good work that no one, in this life, necessarily always sees.
There will be some that help and serve others.
All will be rewarded.
We always remember the unsung heroes in life, and those who have inspired and will always inspire.
There is no one way to spend the summer. Because all of us are equal. Because all of us are different.
But it is still important to stay safe, healthy, sustainable and kind, treating others as we wish to be treated, always reaching out if we have challenges, as we relax, recharge, read and reflect.
This applies on-line also, where we must be careful not to live all our lives, and always stay appropriate, legal, moral and safe.
Of course, we wish Year 11 and Year 13 students here, and everywhere, every happiness on their results days.
The future is bright. “We go again” said England-supporting TBSHS students on the corridors yesterday. England had the third youngest squad in these last Euros. Good luck to the Lionesses late this afternoon in a key qualification game for their Euros in Sweden.
After the 2023 League Cup final, Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, took academy player Kobbie Mainoo, who was not in the squad, aside on the pitch. He told him that, in the following season, Kobbie would be successful. Despite being significantly injured last pre-season, Kobbie, aged nineteen, was selected for the first team on his return in November and represented England, including at the Euros, just a few months later.
Whether you are a student, or even an adult, never stop dreaming, never stop caring.
