Thought For The Day – Thursday 16th January 2025
Progress
Yesterday, in a special results assembly, to replicate the actual GCSE results day of 21st of August 2025, Year 11 students received their GCSE practice, or mock, examination results.
Students will remember the feeling they had of waiting. What results will be in the envelope? What results do students want to be in the envelope? Nerves then lead to fearless and positive hard work now.
Students can then project forward and think, each day, what small steps are needed to be taken to make further great progress in the actual examinations.
Manifestation requires action. There are only two months of school days, for example, left to make that difference. Make every day matter. Trust the process. Stay humble. Relaxed but focused. We give our very best. That is all.
We look forward to welcoming Year 11 carers, parents and students for their academic consultation evening tonight.
Year 13 have completed their training block of mock examinations. Thank you to Mrs. Chan and the staff invigilating and examinations team. Whilst they await their results assembly, the above process equally applies to Year 13.
Today’s academy are tomorrow’s senior years. All year groups are part of the above journey. It takes time.
Outstanding extra-curricular and community opportunities continue, inside and outside school. The school was recently selected as one of the top 25 state schools for cricket by “The Cricketer” magazine. The Bishop’s Stortford High School featured alongside other great schools in their Christmas edition. The Year 10 rugby team go in the last 16 of the National Vase competition today.
In all the above the health and wellbeing of others, ourselves and our environment needs appreciated, cared for, cherished, nurtured and prioritised. “To everything there is a season, and time”.
The ultimate “result” is for the kind of person someone is. In that journey too, we are always humble, trying to improve, collectively and personally.
