Thought For The Day – Monday 4th November 2024
Remembrance
We hope you had a good, healthy and safe half term.
Thank you for the beginning you made to our new school in the aspirational autumn of September and October.
We will further and humbly develop, grow and learn in the wonderful winter of November and December.
We will continue to make good progress in our subject lessons, in extra-curricular activities, in the community and in being good, kind, moral and respectful citizens and people.
In this committed and thoughtful endeavour, and on our personal and collective journey, we are always very mindful of those in need.
We are deeply aware of those experiencing massive challenges in our community and beyond.
Thank you for your recent donations to “Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank”.
At this time of year, and always, we remember and we never forget.
Saturday was All Soul’s Day in Christianity where all who have passed to the next life, and who continue to inspire, love and be loved, are remembered.
We always remember all who came before us and all who have sacrificed and served and those who continue to sacrifice and serve.
In one week’s time, we will have our annual Remembrance service, our inaugural service at Beaumont Avenue.
Poppies will be available this week as we remember those who have sacrificed and served and those who continue to sacrifice and serve.
Interact students will regularly be visiting form rooms in afternoon registration this week with poppies. Mr. Etheridge and Interact students will be in the playground at break times.
For the traditional poppies, please respectfully give what you can afford, though we at T.B.S.H.S. feel a donation of 50 pence or £1 would be very much appreciated. The metal pin poppies are £2. All monies go to the “Royal British Legion” in Bishop’s Stortford.
At this colder time of year, the poppy brings much cultural, moral and spiritual warmth.
