Thought For The Day – Monday 3rd March 2025
Inspirational
Above: TBSHS on Friday evening. There are now 7 school weeks to go for Year 11 students, and 8 school weeks to go for Year 13 students, until most of the final examinations begin. Make every lesson, every day and every evening count. Set a platform for April vacation revision now. Give your best.
In our academic, extra-curricular and community endeavours, we can be greatly inspired of the events of Sunday 2nd March 2025.
Congratulations to the Year 10 rugby players, and staff, who yesterday qualified for the final of the National Schools’ Cup Vase rugby union competition.
These students, and their staff, created even more school history and epic and eternal memories.
Against the fine Gresham’s School, TBSHS gave a wonderful display, from start to finish. “A commanding performance, one that delivered five tries and a five star perfomance”, analysed the commentator on the “England Rugby” live broadcast. The final score was 33 points to 8 points.
The players were truly outstanding with brilliant: attack; defence; passing; tackling; kicking; transitions; teamwork and communication.
The team demonstrated great commitment, aspiration, respect, integrity and community. A valued and valuable example of values.
In many ways, the tone was set very early on in the match, after seven minutes 45 seconds, with a charge down, pick up and then try of an opposition kick near the Gresham’s try line. Three moves in one. A fabulous play that exemplified belief. Even more followed against great opposition. And, at the end of the game, there were appropriate celebrations, after respectfully shaking the hands of the officials and the Gresham’s team.
Good and moral conduct in victory, and defeat, and all in between, on and off the field, is everything.
As is saying thank you, getting back to work, being humble and staying level.
Very, very well done to all students, carers, guardians, parents and staff involved.
“The Black and Gold Spirit”.
And this continues, in every context, today, this week and beyond.
