Thought For The Day – Monday 18th September 2023
An Important Week
Every week, and day, is very important both inside and outside lessons and school.
This is especially significant at the start of the school year. We set the tone for the season ahead now.
As regards TBSHS, this week is particularly important as we model the school values of commitment, aspiration, respect, integrity and community through student leadership and teamwork.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, is a non- school uniform day for all who are suffering and are in great need in Morocco and Libya. The suggested donation is £2. Please bring in cash and ensure you have the correct equipment for lessons and locker keys. Standards are the same as always, both in terms of respect for each other, respect for the wider community outside school and respect for the school and local environment.
Thursday is our Open Evening. This a brilliant opportunity for you to give back to the school, develop your communication, manners and oracy which are so vital to your future and to have an enjoyable time in the process. There is such a great ambience, buzz, enthusiasm and passion to this evening as everyone works together to showcase “The Black and Gold Spirit” to prospective parents and students This is led by the wonderful students of TBSHS.
Saturday is House Rugby Day where forms in each year group, coached and mentored by sixth formers, and supervised and encouraged by staff and form tutors, play good-spirited matches against one another for points for their house. The House System is something that everyone is proud of at TBSHS.
Make sure you are part of the positive story, and legacy, this week and every week. We do not just sit back, leaving it to someone else. We participate, show resilience, responsibility and respect, help others and lead.
Make memories.
