Thought For The Day – Friday 19th January 2024
Character and Values
Well done to everyone on the completion of the second week of the term.
This is never an easy time of year and we very much appreciate all the very positive contributions.
A particular thank you to Year 13 for their conduct in, and work for, their practice examinations.
As Year 11 students will testify, honest and important feedback is being given so that winter, and when it comes spring, preparation leads to summer smiles and success.
Now is where the season is made.
In all that we do, character and values remain everything. Duty to others, duty to ourselves. Doing our best. Looking after others and ourselves.
Adam Crowther is a former student who signed for Southend United Football Club recently. His former team, King’s Lynn Town, were very appreciative of his service.
The picture below is of former student Adam Crowther playing for King’s Lynn Town at Chester in August. He is about to show characteristic thoughtful distribution and passing from defence, which matches his fine all-round skills of communication, leadership, reading of the game, tackling and contributing key goals.
Although King’s Lynn were defeated by Chester in this football match, Adam was the last to leave the field from his team, going over to applaud, and even apologise to, the away supporters. Adam played very impressively in this game, and showed leadership and responsibility, character and values, at the end of the match. A reflection of him and his family.
“The Black and Gold Spirit” in timeless and never leaves you. On and off the field. At all ages.
