Finding A Way
Pictured above: TBSHS in the starlight and moonlight, yesterday morning.
Every season has its own narrative.
The narrative of our season at TBSHS is increasingly becoming about what can be done, rather than what cannot be done. About finding a way.
Rewind to the start of the season. Against all the odds, the new school safely opened part by part, department by department, student group by student group.
And a way continued to be found to meet every challenge after that. This required leadership and teamwork.
A further example of finding a way happened literally at Saint Michael’s Church yesterday. New routes were found, historic new paths trodden and a double-decker bus was meticulously booked and organized. Thank you to Year 7 and Year 8 for their brilliant conduct yesterday, as well as to all excellent student leaders and performers.
The Sixth Form and Years 9 and 10 have their services today at Saint Michael’s Church. Students, in smart uniform, should show engagement and respectful conduct. Students should stay safe on your journey to, and from, the church, leaving anything not needed in lockers. If students can afford, and they wish, they should bring a donation to give to the church, a pillar and support for our community. Such a donation or voluntary contribution would be very gratefully appreciated.
To find a way requires courage, hard work, hope, resilience and vision.
The bigger the challenge, the bigger the response.
It is said that the sign of a good team is that it finds a way.
Students will also need to find a way in their examinations in 2025 .
But, it would be facile and inaccurate to say that life itself is always fair, that a way can always be found, even to the massively brilliant, persistent and persevering.
Everyone’s way, and journey, is different, though we unite together in our support.
And sometimes the way, our way, other people’s way, can be is very challenging.
If we can, we should strive for more justice and hope so those who inspire and love receive their rewards in this life and the next.
This is what we reflect on in our inclusive and diverse services.
