Thought For The Day – Monday 23rd September 2024
Black and Gold Spirit
As we already enter the third full school week of this term, we continue to show “The Black and Gold Spirit”.
We hope you have made a great start to this season.
Thank you very much to all staff and students who have joined to enhance TBSHS this academic year. We hope you feel very welcome.
A massive part of “The Black and Gold Spirit” is resilience.
In life there will always be challenges.
But the bigger the challenge, the bigger, and deeper and kinder, the response.
We keep on keeping on: bouncing back; seeking any support we need; reaching out to, and looking out for, others; working as a society and team to meet any challenges we face; helping one another; doing, and giving, our very best.
Our best is always enough.
In many ways, the journey of our new school is our personal and collective journey.
With both us, and the new school, past, present and eternal future experiences make all the effort invested so precious, special, unique, valuable and worthwhile.
We are always mindful that so many have very significant life challenges beyond words.
Because a further vital aspect of “The Black and Gold Spirit” is respect and responsibility, to ourselves, other people and our environment.
This week sees our annual Standards Evenings, where the school will share its ethos, standards, values and vision with carers, guardians and parents visiting our wonderful new school for the very first time.
Students, as usual in smart uniform, will also be in attendance, and will receive very important and wise advice, guidance and inspiration for the exciting and historic year ahead.
How will we contribute to the story of “The Black and Gold Spirit”?
Today. Tomorrow. This week. This month. This year. And in the years to come. At TBSHS, and beyond.
As the days and weeks progress, and summer transitions into autumn, it is crucial that we maintain our positive, compassionate and helpful conduct and progress: in form time, learning, lessons and homework; around, to and from school; in extra-curricular activities and educational visits; at home; in the community; and on-line.
