TBSHS Students Celebrate A-Level Exam Success
Majority are now heading off to their first-choice universities
Students at The Bishop’s Stortford High School were in high spirits today, as they collected their A-Level and BTEC examination results. With large numbers of students picking up A and A* grades, the vast majority are now heading off to their first-choice university destinations. Four students have gained a place at either Oxford or Cambridge University with another two going off to study medicine or veterinary science.
Dale Reeve, Headteacher at the London Road School, said “Huge congratulations to all those sixth formers who have done incredibly well and collected some breath-taking results this summer. Despite the much-publicised changes to the grade boundaries this year, we’ve seen so many outstanding individual performances this year, not just those gaining places on Oxbridge or Medicine courses, but so many others with fantastic results that are now taking them to some of the very best universities around the country. My congratulations also go to those students embarking on apprenticeships or going straight into employment. They’ve worked so hard to gain these great results, showing excellent character and resilience along the way, and they’ve been incredibly well supported over the last two years by our superb staff, to whom I’m extremely grateful. We wish all those departing students the very best of luck and look forward to following their progress over the coming years.”

George Munro, Head of Sixth Form, added “It’s brilliant to see our students achieving such great results on top of gaining so much enjoyment from their time in our sixth form. The year group have worked hard and displayed great ambition to gain places on top courses at a range of prestigious universities and on highly competitive apprenticeship programmes. From the team-building trip at the start of Year 12 to their leavers assembly on their last day, they clearly gelled as a group and embraced the Black & Gold spirit. They can be so proud of these superb outcomes and also of the positive contribution they made to the school and our community. I’d like to congratulate them all and wish them every success with their future endeavours.”
