Thought For The Day – Thursday 11th December 2025
Dig Deep, Keep Going
Last week, the draw was made for the Final Stages of the 2026 Men’s Football World Cup.
Qualifying teams from all around the world, mindful there are some qualifications still to be established, will play in iconic sporting venues in Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico.
Having qualified, teams will turn their attention to on and off the field preparation for this iconic tournament. Nothing will be left to chance. This is their moment. This is their stage. Groupings promise fascinating matches. Those that have not qualified will begin working to their new goal. All will dream.
In a similar manner, Year 11 and 13 students are preparing for their “academic world cup”. Winter will soon transition into spring and summer. Oranges, reds, and greens will give way to blues and yellows. Black and Gold is always present. The time is always now.
Year 11 are putting in a great effort with their mock examinations.
Year 13 will follow in 2026.
And all year groups know that they have their “world cups” themselves. It always starts with the “Academy”. And we never stop learning. At any age.
We, calmly and healthily, with respect, resilience and responsibility, dig deep and keep going.
Very much like, “running the bend” on Sports Day. Those hard steps make a difference in the final few metres. Everyone runs their best race, the best race for them, those they love, and their supporters.
Soon, for this series of G.C.S.E. mock examinations, the “home straight” will be reached. The holidays will be the reward.
We cross the finish line, knowing we gave our all, humbly showing character and values, respecting all. A true champion attitude.
And this journey replicates the final examinations and indeed life itself.
Run your best, for the finish line, wrote Saint Paul.
In everything, we give our all, looking after others and ourselves.
