Thought For The Day – Wednesday 3rd December 2025
The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year …For Everyone
Yesterday’s Christmas lunch was absolutely wonderful. Thank you to: Ms. Engel; Mr. Cooper; the catering team; and all the very kind and generous staff who very kindly helped and served. Yesterday showed true “Black and Gold Spirit”, with over 1,100 lunches served. The attire of students, raising money for charity, added a further festive touch. This ambience was very positively commented on by visitors to The Bishop’s Stortford High School yesterday.
This evening, we have our traditional “Christmas Concert”. Music is such a key feature, and memory, of the Christmas season and that is very much the case at T.B.S.H.S., with always very grateful thanks to: Mr. Emery; Mr. Mead; and all music teachers, students, and technicians. The performing arts and musicianship at T.B.S.H.S. are outstanding, as “Our House” so memorably demonstrated.
There are many people, and areas, that make us, us, that give us our identity. Academic lessons, educational visits, exchanges, and sports continue at the very highest level also.
Thank you to Mrs. Miles and the P.T.F.A. the “Candlelit Supper”, on Friday, will be another very special evening. The P.T.F.A., and P.S.A., are fabulous people who give of their precious time to fundraise for T.B.S.H.S. and are inspirational heroes. Their outstanding work, given from their “Black and Gold” heart, benefits the whole community.
They inspire us to think of others this Christmas season. Thank you to all who have donated toys to Ms. Mac’s fabulous “Salvation Army” project. There will be a meeting in Room C05 at 1:20 today for any students interested in “bag packing” for charity. Lunch passes will be available from Room C05 at break today for this meeting.
We know that this time of year is very challenging for many. So, we reach out and check in on others. And we must look after ourselves too.
We make this “the most wonderful time of the year”…for everyone.
It is only “the most wonderful time of the year” if everyone is looked after and supported.
Like the Christmas lunch yesterday.
