Thought For The Day – Tuesday 7th October 2025
Online Safety
Lessons change lives and change the world.
Lessons help us make progress towards assessment and examination success.
Lessons inspire us with a deep and great passion for a subject.
Even more importantly, lessons guide us make good, and kind, decisions, both for ourselves and others.
Today, we will have one of the most important lessons, if not the most important lesson of the academic year with Online Safety training from “Education Child Protection”.
The very highest standards of behaviour and engagement will be required regarding, in this modern age in which we live, the most vital of subjects.
We fully respect our guests.
The timings for this crucial lesson are as follows: Period 2 with Year 11; Period with Year 9 and Year 10; Period 4 with Year 7 and Year 8; Period 5 with Year 12 and Year 13. Students will be brought to the Main Hall promptly by their class teacher for that lesson. Do not be late.
In today’s society, online safety is paramount, both for our health and safety and that of others.
It is vital we are good digital citizens, demonstrating good digital literacy, showing good values virtually, as well as in person, talking with home and school if we have any concerns.
The ubiquitous presence of the “smart” telephone only makes the need for on-line safety and protection greater.
For sure, technology presents good, legal, moral, and thoughtful opportunities, but only if it used in a good, legal, moral, and thoughtful way.
As ever, health, safety and wellbeing come first.
Thank you very much to Miss. Butler and Mr. Harvey for organising today.
