Lord Heseltine Re-visits TBSHS
On Tuesday (13.1.26) we were delighted to welcome, once again, Lord Michael Heseltine to TBSHS to speak to our Sixth form. Lord Heseltine last visited in November 2019, shortly before the Covid 19 pandemic, so we were delighted to welcome him to our new campus on Beaumont Avenue.
Lord Heseltine met several students in the dining hall during lunchtime, before moving into the hall to speak to the whole Sixth Form.
After talking about his younger days and his career path, Lord Heseltine patiently answered questions from the students.
Simon Etheridge, Subject Leader for Religious Studies and Citizenship commented “Lord Heseltine, 92 years young, speaking without a note or PowerPoint, gave a characteristically inspirational and thoughtful presentation. Lord Heseltine talked about the importance of learning from the past, and living cooperatively, respectfully, and with integrity in the present, as we meet the challenges of the future. This giant of Politics showed immense, and humble, respect for the students and T.B.S.H.S..”
