32.5 hours per week – term time only (38 weeks p.a)
Pay scale H3 – Actual salary from £18,726
Required for 1 September 2025

The Bishop’s Stortford High School has an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and conscientious colleague to join our friendly Learning Support Department and be part of our highly effective SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) team supporting learning for students with a variety of individual needs including one-to-one, small group and whole-class support. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in education and offers the possibility to work towards becoming a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant.

The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE school of 1260 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 130 female students. The Bishop’s Stortford High School has an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking to appoint a professional and flexible Clerk to the Governing body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, Headteacher and school governors. Alongside the general administration of the governing body, including meetings, the Clerk is responsible for advising the Governing Body on constitutional and procedural matters, on duties and powers and working within the current legislative framework.

- An individual who can help secure the continuity of Governing Body business
- Strong IT skills

The Bishop’s Stortford High School are seeking to appoint a dedicated, conscientious and organized person to join our school as a Post 18 Guidance coordinator. You will be an individual who enjoys working with students. You will develop and implement a holistic support programme for students applying to university, apprenticeships, and other routes. You will lead the UCAS application process, working closely with the Sixth Form management team. You will collaborate with subject departments to support students with UCAS references, applications, and managing deadlines. You will host external speakers at assemblies to inform students about careers and futures. You will be expected to stay up to date with entry requirements, university courses, and career trends, ensuring that Sixth Form tutors are well informed.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience working in careers guidance, progression support or university admissions
- A track record of successfully building employer networks and industry partnerships
- Strong knowledge of UCAS applications, university admissions and alternative progression routes, including apprenticeships, supported internships and employment pathways
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to work under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- A well-organised, proactive individual with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An individual who works well with staff and students alike
