Thought For The Day – Wednesday 17th September 2025
Black and Gold Vibes
Yesterday, we hosted a guest speaker, Mr. George Fouche, who gave an outstanding presentation to the Sixth Form.
George Fouche, a former professional and international rugby union player, and now mindset coach to sportspeople all around the world, has experienced many challenges in his life, from abuse and poverty to injury and bereavement.
Sharing his inspirational life story, George brilliantly spoke, without a note, and moving around the Hall, of the importance of; positivity; taking opportunities; respect; humility; hard work; resilience; support; and belief.
George was so very impressed by the Sixth Form of T.B.S.H.S.. Students stayed behind to express their appreciation and said thank you after the session as they walked past. George has visited many schools around the country. Last night, he spoke so very highly of our school. Mr. Fouche was “bowled over” he said by what he called “the vibe” of T.B.S.H.S. He said he could sense this as soon as he walked into the building.
First impressions matter. Indeed, we do not get a second chance to make a first impression.
Thank you very much to Mr. Fouche.
When any person expresses appreciation and gratitude it says everything about them.
At T.B.S.H.S. we, respectfully and safely, make people feel welcome.
We will do that once again tomorrow evening.
Let us continue to spread those “Black and Gold Vibes” and represent, whether that be: in school; in the community; on educational visits; or on Prospective Parents’ Evening.
