Thought For The Day – Monday 29th September 2025
Progress
From assemblies to bake offs, from multi-lingual dates to quizzes, “Languages Week” at T.B.S.H.S. was brilliant. “Languages Week” was fun, engaging, inclusive, informative, and wonderful. It promoted mutual respect, understanding and support. It brought people together, representing all students and our local, national, and international community generally. Thank you to the Languages staff and student leaders.
Friday’s date in five different languages was:
Fijian – Vakaraubuka 26 ni Sepiteba 2025
Hawaiian – Pōʻalima 26 Kepakemapa 2025
Irish – Dé hAoine 26 Meán Fómhair 2025
Tongan – Falaite 26 ‘o Sepitema 2025
Danish – Fredag den 26. september 2025
Saturday also saw another memorable “House Rugby” event at Jobbers Wood. On an historic and inspirational day for sport, and society, where the England’s women’s rugby union team, the “Red Roses”, defeated a fine, and equally ground-breaking, Canada team to win the world cup in front of 81,885 fans spectators and supporters at Twickenham, it was wonderful to see so many student participants and family and parental supporters at our T.B.S.H.S. home of rugby. Once again, thank you to staff and student leaders. It was another very special Saturday.
As we pass half-time of this half term, as we transition into October, now autumn in the U.K., momentum continues to be generated, and progress continues to be made. The academic season, in and out of class and school, is very much in full swing.
What are your honest reflections on our progress so far? What has gone well in this important, and formative part, of the school season? Are we positively taking our chances? Are we keeping things respectful, resilient, and disciplined? What platform have we built?
What important adjustments do we still wish to make? How will we make these changes?
Values, both personal and collective, remain the foundation and rock on which everything is built, and everyone is cared for.
