“Thank You” are two simple, and thoughtful, words which express so much more.
On one level, saying thank you is about acknowledgement, humility, good manners, politeness and respect.
Thank you says to the other person: “you matter” and “you are valued”.
On a further, and practical, level, “thank you” expresses a genuine and heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for something which would not otherwise be done.
Often, saying thank you does not fully convey our appreciation and gratitude for words only take us so far, and, therefore, thank you can be symbolic of something beyond.
A thank you is priceless and valuable, yet costs nothing.
Thank you for your very positive contributions and participation yesterday. It is always appreciated and not taken for granted. We tried to say “thank you” to students in the corridors and in the playground yesterday. The personal thank you often means more.
We are back in “Black and Gold” uniform today, of course, continuing to uphold our personal, and collective, ethics and values.
Schools are a positive and professional partnership between students, staff and families. Each needs the other. We say thank you to all.
We never forget our roots, family, friends, inspirations, community and neighbourhood. The biggest thank you is to them. We pay their legacy forward.
But in this educational and wellbeing trinity, where each are equally vital, we should not forget the leadership of all the staff in every area of T.B.S.H.S., and indeed any school.
Would you be a member of staff?
Would you work in a school?
We, and you, are so very blessed that, at T.B.S.H.S., and elsewhere around the world, all staff said yes to these two questions, and still, when they did not have to.
On this World Nelson Mandela Day, we remember his belief that education can change the world.
All schools, in every sector and of every type, nursery, primary and secondary, are wonderful places which are so very proud of their story and their legacy.
Every home, and every school, is a palace to someone. We are rightly proud of our school. Other people are rightly proud of their school. All schools make a wonderful contribution to society.
As we near the end of term, finishing well, we do not forget to say: “Thank You”.
Relating to T.B.S.H.S., the unsung heroes of yesterday were the staff who facilitated the event. Thank you to Mr. Reeve and the Senior Leadership Team for their support of the day. Thank you to all the Staff in every area of T.B.S.H.S. for all they do at the School, including offering international and national opportunities this week and beyond, each and every day at T.B.S.H.S. We will particularly celebrate the wonderful staff leaving T.B.S.H.S. next week.
We appreciate, love and treasure all because we know there are challenges beyond words.
Yesterday was all about thinking of those in great need.
As every day is.
Our very deepest, and most profound, love, thoughts and prayers are with students, families, staff, emergency services and members of community in Minehead, Somerset, and the surrounding area, at this time.
