National Careers Week 2026
2-7th March 2026
National Careers Week is a one-week celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people develop awareness and about their future pathways.
NCW is a dedicated week every year allowing schools, colleges, universities, alternative provision settings and organisations to work towards enhanced careers provision.
Here at The Bishop’s Stortford High School, we have both events and special form activities planned (see below).

National Apprenticeship Week
9th – 13th February 2026
NAW is a week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy
We hosted some fantastic careers workshops here at TBSHS presented by some of our terrific alumni students, plus Year 12 enjoyed a dedicated information session and form activities – see all the details below
Monday 9th February – Kira Shaw from Mishcon De Reya visited.
We learned all about her solicitor apprenticeship at this highly prestigious, top-drawer firm
Tuesday 10th February – Eva Stewart presented at a workshop.
Eva is from yet another highly prestigious institution and is enjoying her apprenticeship with The Bank of England
Wednesday 11th February – This was a super workshop delivered by Max Andrews who is loving his Quantity Surveying apprenticeship with Turner & Townsend
Tuesday 24th February – It was a pleasure to welcome back Jess Mitchell who is loving her PC Degree Apprenticeship; only yesterday Jess gave chase to a potential suspect during a retail theft.
Year 12 – An Apprenticeship Introduction – Thursday 12th February
This apprentice session was for Year 12 students and aimed to demystify apprenticeship programmes, give tips on how best to search for apprenticeships and help students with the application process.
Our presenter was close supporter of the school, Angela Andrews, ably supported by TBSHS alumni apprentices Patrycja Rusinek of KPMG and Will Stewart from wealth management company St James’s Place. Appearing by video were Cate Munir, an engineering broadcast apprentice with the BBC and Patrick Winnington who is now EasyJet engineering apprentice.
It was fantastic to welcome back and see Kira, Eva, Max, Jess, Patrycja and Will – and see Cate and Patrick on screen – and we’re really grateful and appreciative of the time they spent supporting our students.
