Careers Fairs and Workshops
A successful initiative introduced to the careers provision here at the Bishop’s Stortford High School are the lunchtime Careers Workshops for Years 9-13.
We’ve hosted a number of visitors in the last 2-3 years who have presented sessions on their profession and/or roles, along with details of career pathways, training and opportunities. Visitors to date include PHD Architects, Cambridge Intelligence, Price Bailey, Audi, Johnson & Johnson, Tees Law, GSK, The Civil Service, University College London, working in the charity sector and St James Wealth Management – to name but a few.
In an informal classroom atmosphere, a target audience of students specifically interested in a certain career can find out more; subjects to choose at A Level etc. Presenters use a variety of methods to illustrate their talks such as worksheets, Powerpoints, group work etc – all of which ensure our students are engaged and enjoy the workshops.
Do please get in touch if you can contribute to the workshop calendar in any way – I would love to hear from you.
Careers Fair 2025
We’re delighted to announce that the next biennial Careers Fair will take place on October 22nd 2025, 3.30pm-7.30pm (times TBC).
Students in Years 10-13 will be invited to attend with parents/carers and within a given time slot/window, they can circulate the many stands and find out about careers and pathways. As in previous years, there will be a wide range of local and high profile employers including apprenticeship recruiters, as well as educators and universities. It’s an extremely valuable event with a fantastic atmosphere – and guests hosting stands are always happy to engage and give advice to students.
Do make a note on calendars.
