Thought For The Day – Tuesday 13th January 2026
Progress
Today is a very important day for Year 11 students as they receive their mock examination results. These examinations took place before Christmas.
This event will replicate the experience in August, when the actual results are published and distributed.
The feeling of waiting for, and opening up, results today will be remembered for motivation.
What final examination results do we wish to achieve? What steps are we taking to make this a reality?
There are challenges in learning, as there in life.
Progress is never a straight line a requires resilience, persistence, reflection, support, honesty, humility, and belief.
As well as having a long-term vision, we take things step-by-step, every day at a time.
The results of, and feedback from, their mock examinations will give Year 11 students aims, aspirations, drive, and targets for the final few weeks of their courses. These will be discussed at Parents’ Evening on Thursday. Staff will give very important advice. Students will take very important actions.
And all year groups will be thinking about their assessments and examinations, for revision is on-going and occurs during courses. There are less than two weeks to go until Year 13 mock examinations. Year 9 examinations occur at the beginning of next half-term, whilst Year 10 examinations will take place in late April. Time does go fast.
We remember that the joy and love of learning and our subjects, and relating our subjects to our identity and skills, showing respect, and following the values of T.B.S.H.S., makes a vital difference.
In all the above, well-being is paramount: doing and giving our best; staying healthy; keeping perspective; looking after others and ourselves.
