Sixth Form Enrichment Programme
At TBSHS we pride ourselves in offering an active and vibrant Enrichment programme as a crucial part of your all-round Sixth Form education.
Our Enrichment Programme takes place on Wednesday afternoons and offers students the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities beyond their academic subjects. This dedicated time allows students to explore new interests, develop valuable skills, and build social connections within the sixth form community.
Students can choose from a variety of options, including numerous sporting activities, debating, board games, and participation in the Mock Bar Trial competition, among others. The programme is designed to enhance personal growth, encourage teamwork, and support a well-rounded educational experience.
Bar Mock Trial
Bar Mock Trial is the most prestigious mock trial competition for schools in the UK. Acting as barristers, witnesses, jurors, and court officials, students are encouraged to analyse criminal law scenarios and act in defence or prosecution of a perpetrator. Bar Mock Trial is widely recognised by legal professionals as an excellent introduction to anyone interested in law and criminology and is well-respected by universities for developing critical insight and public speaking.
Board Games
Come along and play chess or board/table top games. We have plenty of chess sets and some limited other games. You are welcome to bring your own cards or games.
Book Club
An opportunity to read and discuss a diverse range of books based on different themes.
Debating
No previous experience necessary, but ‘old hands’ are equally welcome. Everyone will have a chance to express their opinions about a variety of topics and find out more about the interschool competitions that we enter. The school takes part in the English Speaking Union’s Mace Debating competition, the Cambridge Union debates, and has competed in the Debating Matters competition.
Drama
This involves preparing for the whole school show or running and participating in the sixth form theatre company. Suitable for anyone who has an interest in:

Film Club
Film club gives you a chance to watch films from different eras and genres and discuss them.
Green Team
Engaging in horticultural activities offers numerous benefits, both physical and psychological, while equipping you with practical skills and lifelong knowledge. If you’re eager to learn how to cultivate a garden, grow fruits and vegetables, and propagate plants cost-effectively, consider joining “The Green Team!” The sessions follow the content of the RHS Level 1 Award in Practical Horticulture.
Music
Music Enrichment is for musicians wishing to explore developing their musical skills through rehearsing as part of a band. In Enrichment sessions we will develop your ensemble performance skills and you will have an opportunity to record your music using our bespoke studio. Musicians in the past year have used enrichment time to practice everything from heavy metal through to jazz improvisation and work towards concerts. If you play an instrument and are interested in forming a brand new band, you should consider coming to Music Enrichment.
Pilates
The session delivers a full body controlled workout suitable for beginners and experienced exercisers alike. It will tune you into your mind body connection like no other exercise routine.
