School Caretaker
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Pay scale H2 – Actual salary £25,507 including fringe
Required for September 2025
The Bishop’s Stortford High School has an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking to appoint a hard-working and enthusiastic school caretaker to offer caretaking support to the site team ensuring security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard.
What we are looking for:
- Someone who can prioritise tasks and adapt accordingly
- Good practical DIY skills and problem solving
- Flexible approach to work to involve occasional evening and weekend work.
- A well-organised, proactive individual with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An individual who works well with staff and students alike
- An understanding of school H&S systems and working in schools would be an advantage
- An individual with a full driving licence and their own transport to move between sites

The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE school of 1260 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 130 female students. This is a very exciting time to be joining our Outstanding school, as we relocated to a brand-new state-of-the-art school, in September 2024, on a large site less than a mile from our previous location.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and conscientious colleague to join our friendly Learning Support Department and be part of our highly effective SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) team supporting learning for students with a variety of individual needs including one-to-one, small group and whole-class support. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in education and offers the possibility to work towards becoming a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant.
