Thought For The Day – Tuesday 25th November 2025
“Our House”
Tonight’s the night.
“Our House” opens at The Bishop’s Stortford High School.
This fantastic production, based on Tim Firth’s book, sponsored at T.B.S.H.S. by “Tees Law”, and led by such a fabulous team of staff and students, who have been working so very diligently and professionally on this production for many weeks and months, will be performed for three memorable nights.
“Our House” will continue a fine and wonderful tradition of musical theatre at T.B.S.H.S., showcasing the very best of the wonderful Drama and Music departments, with songs you will know, and massively enjoy, from the “ska” band “Madness”, and an engaging narrative and plot which mirrors the joys and challenges of life and love.
Two years ago, “Oliver”, the finale of which is pictured above, was such a fitting last “Whole School Production” at London Road. This was such an appropriate performing arts end for a venue where so many had “trod the boards” over decades. It was a show for the ages.
“Oliver” brought the house down, metaphorically, a couple of years before the house literally did come down, to make way for new houses.
Tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday, a new legacy will be created. New dreams will be realised in our beautiful new school, itself a dream becoming reality. History will be made. Students and staff can always say they were “the first”. The first ever “Whole School Production” at Beaumont Avenue. It will be, by very definition of all involved, another outstanding epic. Get ready.
Thursday is sold out. There are still some tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-bishops-stortford-high-school/our-house/e-mqozme
If you are in the audience, you will be key and vital part of what promises to be another unforgettable three nights. The audience are important performers too. This experience will inspire you in your life in whatever you do. Further, you will be supporting students, staff, and school.
If you do not come, you will miss such a fantastic opportunity people travel to the West End in London for.
Such moments are precious and to be treasured.
Thank you so much, and very best wishes , to all students involved. Trust: your tireless preparation; your extraordinary talent; the company and each other; the brilliant and expert staff. Above all else, for these things are moments in time, enjoy it. Every audience member will be willing you on.
There is nothing quite like a show at this festive time. And here is one on your doorstep, “in the middle of our street”.
At any time, drama, music, and culture can heal, inspire, and uplift the heart and soul.
“It must be love…Nothing more. Nothing less. Love is the best”.
It must be another T.B.S.H.S. “Whole School Production”.
Nothing more. Nothing less. They are the very best.
Memories will be made.
Let’s go.
“Our House” at and in our (new) house.
