Another set of great results for TBSHS students

Students at The Bishop’s Stortford High School have collected some fantastic GCSE results again this year with lots achieving the very best grades.

Dale Reeve, Headteacher, commented: “It has clearly been a very challenging two years for this GCSE cohort and it is great to see the boys achieving excellent recognition for the hard work they have sustained throughout the course. These excellent results are a true reflection of both their ability and their attitude towards their studies and they should be extremely proud of their success. They have coped with much uncertainty and disruption, but managed to remain focussed and keep working hard to the very end.

Whether they have individually collected lots of grade 8s and 9s, as so many have, or worked hard to meet the entry requirements for next year’s courses, they are to be congratulated. Aside from achieving great academic success, so many of these students have been heavily involved in our extra-curricular programme, which has also brought them much success. I am thrilled for the boys and am really looking forward to working with so many of them in our sixth form in September. Huge thanks must go to the whole staff for helping them achieve such great outcomes, in particular their Head of Year, Dr Alex Coke-Woods; Inclusion Manager, Mrs Tina Cooper; and the team of Year 11 tutors, who each provided excellent support for the boys.”

Dr Coke Woods, Head of Year, echoed Mr Reeve’s comments: “I’m really proud of what these boys have achieved. They’ve been a fine bunch of young men who have worked really hard and thoroughly deserve such great results. I wish them all the very best of luck in their future endeavours and am delighted that so many have chosen to stay on in our sixth form.”

Among the very highest achieving students were:

Robin Munday - nine grade 9s and one grade 8

Rohan Rana - eight grade 9s and two grade 8s

Donovan Wong - seven grade 9s and three grade 8s

Max Porter - seven grade 9s and two grade 8s

Luca Chandler - seven grade 9s and two grade 8s
