Parent Teacher Friend Association

Welcome to the PTFA

As a parent with a child at the school you are automatically a member of the PTFA and very welcome to come along to our committee meetings to offer help and ideas for fundraising, or to join us as a committee member.

The PTFA committee is made up of a strong and growing team of parents, who take an active part in the life of the school by organising various social events for pupils, staff, parents and their friends throughout the year.  If you would like to take a more active role in any of our programs, please let us know!  Can you help out for just one hour?  Are you interested in helping with a specific event or activity?  Would you like to hold a position, chair an event or join a committee?  We appreciate any level of commitment!  Please contact us anytime.

Each year we seek to help departments within the school by providing financial assistance to purchase essential equipment to enhance the education of pupils of all ages and abilities at TBSHS.  20% of what we raise is put towards the ICT fund and the minibus fund.  Both of these funds require on-going financial help to keep up to date with the latest technology and to enable students to be transported on important educational trips as well as sporting fixtures.  We have also helped to fund a new minibus, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, books, recording and microphone equipment, a grand piano as well as many other requests from departments.

You can find out more about us by checking out the notice board in the school foyer or going to our PTFA website Click here...  Any updates to our calendar will be posted here throughout the year. We produce a regular Newsletter which will be emailed to you directly and we will also send out leaflets and other emails from time to time to advertise up and coming events.

We hope that you will support the PTFA in fundraising for our school.

Sign up to our PTFA newsletter to find out what we are doing to raise funds to enrich your childrens education.

Each year we run a variety of events, but due to popular demand these are annually repeated:

October - Family Quiz

December - Candlelit Dinner

February -  Black and Gold Quiz

March - TBSHS Year 7,8,9 Disco

June - Summer Fete

Details of the dates and other event details can be found on our website.

Alongside our PTFA events, we run successful raffles supported by local businesses.  Our fabulous prizes are kindly donated by local companies and this year we have raised almost £1,000 from our raffle ticket sales.  We would like to thank all those businesses for their generous donations and continued support.  Click here for a full list of:  Contributors

THE 300 Club is one of the many fundraising projects run by the PTFA, but this one gives you the chance to benefit financially and put some money back into your pockets!

For just £2 per month you can have the chance to win one of our cash prizes.  We have a monthly prize draw of £100 and in December we hold a ‘superdraw’ with 3 prizes worth a total of £300.

There are no administrative costs and about half the money collected is paid out in prize money, with the rest going to the school funds.
