The TBSHS Music Department are thrilled to find out that the TBSHS Swing Band has been scouted by by the artistic director at the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival.

Their fantastic performance from the Christmas Concert was spotted by the artistic director at the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival to feature our musicians on their ‘Young Musicians Platform’, which is hosted on YouTube.

Covid -restrictions permitting, the best performances over the coming year will be invited to play at one of the main Festival concerts at Hatfield House later this year.

First up is Sixth Former Finn Lihoreau, playing his solo from the Chirstmas Concert - Saxophone Sonata by Paul Creston.

The second item is the TBSHS Swing Band performing ‘Bob-omb Battlefield’ by the 8-Bit-Pit Band.

Mr Joe Emery, Subject Leader for Music said "TBSHS students truly do not know when they are beaten. Ever since the school closures of 2020 took hold, our students have been as diligent and dedicated to their music-making as ever before. They have embraced remote collaborations and socially distanced rehearsals like true pros, and it is fitting that they have been recognised as worthy of credit by the Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival. My sincere thanks and commendations go to all of the students who have contributed to school music-making over the past year. Bravo!"
