TBSHS is thrilled this week to be named among the best schools in the country for sport.  Selected from more than 4,000 schools we have been ranked No 31 in the 2020 list compiled by School Sport Magazine, as well as being in the top 10 for state schools.

The School were praised for our all-round achievements in a difficult year for sport, which included the under-14 football team winning the national PlayStation FC Schools' Cup and making The Cricketer Schools Guide for the first time.
The annual list is based on performance in more than 120 national competitions across 20 different sports. Reaching the top 200 puts TBSHS in the top 5% of sporting schools in the country.

School Sport Magazine's publishing editor Phil Tusler said "This has been another remarkable year for competitive sport in schools and The Bishop's Stortford High School deserves its achievement."

Peter Harris, Subject Leader for Sport  commented "Every year the School Sports magazine complies two lists of the top 100 state and private schools. This year due to the pandemic they have created a top 200 of all schools and we have finished 31st in the country and in the top 10 for state schools.

Obviously this is a great achievement and fantastic to be acknowledged for all of the hard work that has gone in to providing students with a variety of different opportunities to represent the School.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to helping with teams and also for all of the staff for supporting the students to be able to represent the school in sporting fixtures."
