ANOTHER WEEK OF GREAT RESULTS FOR TBSHS STUDENTS

Students at The Bishop’s Stortford High School have collected some fantastic GCSE results this week with so many of them achieving the very best grades.

Dale Reeve, Headteacher, commented: “We have known for many years that this was an extremely well-motivated and hard-working year group and these excellent results are a true reflection of both their ability and their attitude towards their studies. Not only did they throw themselves fully into the extra-curricular side of school life, but they were also fully engaged during lessons and have reaped the benefits of such dedication to their academic work. To some extent, the removal of the examination season robbed them of their chance to show just what they were capable of, but results they have achieved paint an accurate picture.

Whether they have individually collected lots of grade 8s and 9s, as so many have, or worked hard to meet the entry requirements for next year’s courses, the combined success of this cohort is so richly deserved. I am thrilled for them and am really looking forward to working with so many of them in our sixth form in September.

Huge thanks must go to the whole staff for helping them achieve such great outcomes, in particular their Head of Year, Mr Ross Wheatley; Inclusion Manager, Mrs Tina Cooper; and the team of Year 11 tutors, who each provided first-class support for the boys.

Among the very highest achieving students were:

Malachai Jacobs – nine grade 9s and one grade 8

William Worthy – nine grade 9s and one grade 8

Elliot Wood – nine grade 9s

Thomas White – eight grade 9s and two grade 8s

Finn Lihoreau – eight grade 9s and one grade 8

Luca Campbell – seven grade 9s and two grade 8s

Owen Lee – seven grade 9s and two grade 8s

Ben Hepworth – five grade 9s and four grade 8s

James Neil – five grade 9s, three grade 8s and two grade 7s

Max O’Reilly – five grade 9s, one grade 8 and three grade 7s
