The Music Department's first event of the academic year, under our new Subject Leader for Music Mr Emery's guidance, was a great success.

Fifteen students, taking GCSE or A Level Music exams next summer, previewed their performance items and experienced a live audience, some for the first time.

Each student performed one to two set piece(s), which will be recorded and submitted to the exam boards later in the year.

Supported by parents, friends and family the students each took to the stage to offer their best.

For some it was a first, performing publicly in front of an audience, which can be a nerve-wracking activity, and everyone stepped up their efforts to give some delightful and very creditable performances.

Refreshments were served by members of the Music Mitre Association.

The Music Department's next event is the Christmas Concert on the 6th December - keep a look out after half term when tickets go on sale, as this popular event is usually sold out.
