Congratulations to everyone involved in the inaugural Mitre 10K, 5K & 1K races on Sunday 30th September. With over 300 runners of all ages taking part, the whole event was a huge success. The most reassuring aspect of the day was the sheer number of people willing to give up their time to help with the organisation, administration, marshaling, refreshments, first aid and all of the other services that ensured it ran so smoothly. That great support came from all corners of our school community including staff, students, parents, governors, longstanding friends of the school and their families - to everyone of you, I am extremely grateful!

The race was the brainchild of Mr Phil Godfrey, Vice-Chair of Governors, who teamed up brilliantly with one of our parents, Mrs Vanessa Ambler, and together they have worked tirelessly for many months to pull off this great event, for the sake of the school and our students.

The money raised for the Mitre fund will be used to help us continue to provide excellent enrichment opportunities for our students and we look forward to establishing the race day as an annual event.

Whilst we have already begun discussions on the aspects we can improve for next year, we feel we've got a strong base from which it can grow. We look forward to seeing even more competitors in 2019.

Kind regards, Mr Reeve
