On the 13th March 2018, six teams of three students competed in the district round of the British Schools Karting Championship (BSKC).

There was tough racing with a total of 20 teams and seven schools competing for six places in the South East and London regional round on 21st April 2018.

The TBSHS A team, made up of Thomas Lukies, Luke Wharton and Sunny Neal had a tough time and struggled with various spins and crashes that impeded their progress, but this opened the door for the B team made up of Thomas Wharton, Jacob Tofts and Joshua Fox, who through some great racing and defending of positions,  secured a placein the regional finals.

They now have a shot of qualifying from the region to the National Final later in the year.

Science teacher and Team Coach,  Mr Darren Neesam said "It was a tough day at the races for the A team who just could not find the form they have had in previous years against tough opposition, the B team had all the luck and made use of it to secure their qualification to the regional round in April. Congratulations to all those that took part and to the B team where Joshua Fox and Jacob Tofts have had their first competitive experience of racing"
