Our Model United Nations (MUN) conference is taking place on Saturday the 3rd of February 2018. This year’s conference will be dedicated to Darren Solomons, and all his hard work in the previous conferences.

Our theme this year is based around ‘Diplomatic relations within Asia’. We are focusing our ECOSOC committee on ‘plastic pollution and ocean sustainability, a very contemporary topic following 2017’s blue planet and the media aftermath. Our GA committee is on the ‘missing girl’ issue in India and China, looking at the social effect of the one child policy and societal gender norms in the region, a prominent issue in addressing women’s rights. HR is on the current genocide on Rohingya Muslims in Burma and Security Council is on sanctions in North Korea, which should offer some great debating on the day between those roleplaying North Korea and the Superpowers!

This year we have 24 students attending from Hockerill and 10 international students that are coming from Queen’s College in Mallorca and being hosted by sixth form TBSHS students. We are looking forward to welcoming our guests to our annual conference, and making Mr. Solomon’s proud.
