We are in the middle of an important induction period at TBSHS, having had two very successful days with prospective sixth form students at the end of June. The new students had a chance to sample each of the subjects they could be studying in September, joined in with our impressive enrichment programme and also enjoyed the Mini-Showcase event on Friday afternoon with lots of different talents on show. Last week we hosted the new colleagues who will be joining our teaching and support staff teams in September and Thursday of this week (13th) will be a chance for next year's Year 7 students to taste secondary school life for the first time and for their parents to understand a bit more about the transition process from Year 6, when we meet in the hall at 6.00pm.

Congratulations to all the students and staff involved in the Summer Sounds Music Festival on Saturday. It was a new event in the school calendar and proved a great success. I'd also like to thank all the parents, family and friends who came along to support and provide the lovely atmosphere. Well done to Mr Cosadinos and the team.

Weather permitting, Friday (14th) will see our annual Sports Day, where lots of students will represent their House in the full range of athletics events. The field events take place in the morning and parents are very welcome to join us from 1.00pm, on the top field of our main site, to cheer on the competitors in the track events in the afternoon.

Finally, I had the pleasure of spending the day at Lords last week with a group of Year 8 and 9 boys and was extremely impressed with the attitude and conduct they all displayed throughout the day. They were an absolute credit to the school and to their parents.
