Time to avoid distractions

As we enter the second week of the summer exam season, it's nice to report that students' attitudes towards their exams has, on the whole, have been excellent so far. Punctuality and organisation are obviously vital in ensuring a smooth start for any exam and the Year 11 and 12 students have managed this very well, which helps to avoid adding extra pressure to an already stressful situation.

The boys of Year 11 enjoyed a memorable last day as a whole year group on Friday 12th May with a celebration assembly to mark their contributions and experiences over the last 5 years. Year 13 will have a similar opportunity this Friday, when they'll be able to reflect on their time at TBSHS, before their A2 exams begin after half-term.

As always, helping your son or daughter avoid some of the unhelpful distractions of daily life will help them stay focused on their exam preparations. Being able to concentrate on work for extended periods of time will allow them to become absorbed in the topics they are studying. Spending lots of time on social media or constantly checking ones phone is far from ideal, so do please help them to avoid unnecessary disruptions by encouraging them to switch off their phones while they work.

The best of luck to all students taking exams this summer. Hard work will be at the heart of your success.
